Year 10 Textiles Workshop
Year 10 Textiles Students Shine at Future Foundry Workshop
Our Year 10 Textiles students had an incredible opportunity to participate in the Future Foundry Workshop at Biggin Hall, Dover. This immersive experience allowed students to explore a variety of creative techniques that perfectly complemented their current unit on nature.
During the workshop, students learned the art of lino printing on fabric and paper, honing their skills and expanding their artistic repertoire. Taking inspiration from the natural world, they ventured outside to a nearby park to collect leaves, plants, and flowers. These natural elements were then used to create stunning natural dyes, which they transferred onto T-shirts.
Students also experimented with unconventional materials like coffee, turmeric, tea, and leaves, turning them into vibrant inks and paints. These were used to enhance their designs, contributing unique pieces to their Textiles portfolios.
It was a fantastic day filled with creativity, learning, and hands-on exploration. Our students truly embraced the opportunity to express their artistic talents, and the results were inspiring. Well done to all involved!
