Archbishop John Wilson's Start of Year at St Georges Cathedral Thursday 26th September 2024

We had the honour of attending this key diocesan liturgical event with a small group of staff, students and governors from St Edmunds.  There were over 100 Catholic schools represented at the Mass.  The Archbishop invited all the young people to join him around the altar as he gave his homily.  He asked so many of the young people key questions about our faith and promoted us all to think about how we can keep our faith alive in this journey of ours towards God.  It was a joyful occasion and wonderful opportunity to see how so many Catholic schools from all over the diocese value our Catholic faith.  Each school was given a candle to keep in our places of learning.  Our CEO Annemarie Whittle and the other Trust leaders were all given some beautiful candles and a glass holder as a gift from Archbishop John.  We felt spiritually uplifted again just a few days after the Aylesford retreat.
