  • **Outstanding Pupil Achievement**

    Fri 05 May 2023

Kolbe House Year 10 pupil Ophelia is a true inspiration, here's a little piece of her journey so far....

Ophelia has had the most incredible journey which encompassed being a soloist in ballets and an opera at the Paris Opera Garnier and Bastille! However, the dance world is a tough one. Ophelia left home in September 2021 to live in Portugal to train at the Annarella Sanchez International Academy of Dance where she trained 4-6 hours a day in a pre-professional ballet school and attended high school studying in Portuguese. She then moved to Arizona USA where she trained 4-6 hours a day at Master of Ballet Academy pre pro division and was homeschooled until there was a sudden family bereavement. The families plans had to change, therefore moving back to England. Ophelia now travels upto London on a daily basis to train at Masters of Ballet Academy in their pre pro division, managing to combine her education here at St Edmund's and her high-level ballet training.

We are proud to support you Ophelia... Reach for the stars, they're not far away!!

  • Pupil Achievement - GO KIENNA!!

    Tue 02 May 2023

Year 9 Francis House Pupil Kienna Buddle is heading to the All Star World Cheerleading Competition in Florida next week.

Kienna's talent was first picked up at St Richard’s Primary School where she won the KCSP Sporting Behaviour Father Gilbert cup. Sadly not long after this win, her local cheer programme was closed down. However her talent was recognised and she was offered a place with Gravesend based club-Ice Athletics Cheer. Kienna has come such a long way and she is so dedicated to her sport. Kienna currently attends 3 times a week, enduring 103 mile around trip each time. Kienna and her team are the Junior International Team of ICE Athletics Cheer in the International under 17’s division. As they head into this competition they are the only UK team in that division. This is a wonderful opportunity to not only travel and compete but to train and watch some of the most amazing teams from around the world. At St Edmund’s Catholic School we are incredibly proud of Kienna, we will be “cheering” from afar and we are wishing Kienna and the team good luck and glory in Florida.

  • School Travel and Parking Safety

    Thu 08 Sep 2022

Yesterday we emailed parents reminding them that Old Charlton Road is currently the only pedestrian access to and from our school.

It is essential that parents do not block or narrow the path by mounting the kerb to park between the school gates and the bottom of Connaught Hill.

We have experienced a high volume of cars doing this at the end of the school day which is creating a dangerous situation for our pupils as they walk away from school.

The current road closure between Burgoyne Heights and Dover Castle also means that we are frequently experiencing a high number of cars mounting the kerb to pass other cars as our pupils walk on the path. We are currently in discussions with Charlton Primary School to reopen a Barton Road entrance and exit for some of our pupils and hope to update you on this very soon.

Please wherever possible (for the safety of our children ) make arrangements to meet your child where there is more space rather than directly outside the school gates.

Once again, our students have done themselves, their community and our school proud.
