    Tue 27 Feb 2024

We are excited to share the recent creative endeavors of our Year 10 Art and Photography students, who were fortunate to participate in an engaging in-house workshop as part of their current unit of work focused on churches and landscapes.

During the workshop, students delved into the fascinating realm of cyanotype printing, exploring various techniques and processes. This hands-on experience allowed them to experiment with light, composition, and subject matter, resulting in the production of captivating works of art.

Under the guidance of their dedicated instructors, our budding artists and photographers embraced the opportunity to express their creativity and hone their skills in capturing the essence of churches and landscapes through the unique medium of cyanotype printing.

We commend our students for their enthusiasm and dedication to their craft, and we look forward to witnessing the continued growth and artistic achievements of our Year 10 cohort.

  • Ophelia - Summer Dace Pursuits

    Tue 26 Sep 2023

    Student, Ophelia Pre-Professional Dance Pursuits:

Opera de Paris - Frejus - France

During the summer, she has been dancing under the guidance of Monique Loudieres (ex-etoile of Paris Opera) in the south of France and performed in a public presentation at the Roman Amphitheater in Frejus. For this course, she was chosen out of hundreds to participate in a small group of 15-18 yr old pre-professional dancers. It was deeply inspiring for her to work with such fantastic dancers all training in the French Opera style. During the week, they also had panel discussions with the teachers and at the end of the show, each dancer had to briefly present their "dance journey and aspirations' to the public. This was followed by a Q&A with the public. Ophelia has left with new insight and objectives on how to reach her goal.

    Russian Masters Ballet - Spain

The three weeks in July at Russian Masters Ballet training with Masters from the Vaganova Academy in St Petersburg was truly transformational. Six hours a day training, six days a week culminating with two public Galas in Alicante was not only an incredible experience but a trampoline in her technique, artistry and development. At the end of the course, each parent was offered an interview with the principal teacher via an interpreter!

The dancers shared the stage with leading soloists from top European companies who flew into dance with the students at the final STARS GALA!

Ophelia looks forward to continuing her training in London at Masters of Ballet and completing her GCSE year at St Edmund's Catholic School this year.
