Ofsted and CSI Report

We are thrilled to share the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection and to celebrate another significant milestone in the ongoing journey of improvement at St Edmund's Catholic School.

Under Ofsted's new report card framework, St Edmund's was awarded a Strong Standard for Inclusion, a judgement reserved for schools where leaders are working above the level expected of them. Ofsted recognised St Edmund's as a highly inclusive school where 'staff work tirelessly to remove barriers' and ensure every child can flourish, 'every pupil is known and their personal and academic aspirations are championed'.

Perhaps most significantly, every area of the school met or exceeded Ofsted's expected standards, providing further evidence of the significant progress the school has made in recent years.

Inspectors praised the school's highly effective pastoral support, welcoming culture, calm and orderly environment, and the strong relationships that exist across the school community. They recognised the way pupils are supported, encouraged and inspired to achieve their full potential.

We are a School Going from Strength to Strength and the report highlights the many improvements secured in recent years and celebrates the rapid and sustained impact of the school's work to support pupils' wellbeing, achievement and personal development commenting that 'Pupils are well prepared for their next stages of education, employment or training. This is due not only to their achievement in national examinations but also the confidence and resilience they have developed during their time at the school'. This follows our recent Catholic Schools Inspectorate inspection, which judged St Edmund's to be Outstanding, providing further independent recognition of the exceptional work taking place across our school community.
