Year 8 Rugby Tournament
Fri 22 Mar 2024Our Y8s travelled to Gravesend’s yesterday to compete in the annual St John’s Rugby 7s ‘Colm Murphy Cup, coming away as runners up in the tournament.
We played 4 games in the group, beating St John’s 5 tries to 2, with Tim and Will scoring a brace each and Lucien getting the other try. Next up we faced St John Fisher, winning 4 tries to 1, with Will scoring another brace and Tim and Brooklyn getting a try each. In our third game we come up against Ursuline in a South East Kent Derby, coming away with a 4 tries to 0 win. This was arguably our best game as a team, with immense defence shown throughout. Will once again score a brace, with Tim and Lucien scoring the other tries. Tim made one of the best try saving tackles I’ve ever witnessed in this game and had all the crowd congratulating himself afterwards!
Lastly, we come up against St Columbia. Sadly we went against our game play and play into St Columbias game, coming away with a 4-1 loss. But Tim coming away with another solo effort.
This meant we would play St Columbia in the final. The boys listened to the prematch instructions and tackled St Columbia’s big runners, showing a massive improvement on the previous game. We ended up losing the game 3-0, but showed much more spirt and a will to win, with everyone commenting on how brave the boys were.
Big shoutout goes to Miss Marsh, who was our driver/first aider/assistant coach who allowed the boys to travel and compete!!

British Science Week - Role Play - Year 9 Psalms of Suspicion...Who done it!!
Fri 15 Mar 2024Yesterday, for BSW all of year 9's were off timetable to solve the horrendous murder of Mrs Parsons that had occurred at St Edmund's last night. They were tasked to analyse and scrutinise the crime scene and all evidence that was collected. They performed fingerprint and shoeprint analysis, chromatography of the suspects pens, performed multiple tests on an unknown powder that was left at the scene and used microscopes to determine who's hair was left at the scene. Once they had collected all the evidence and examined the witness statements, they had to determine who had committed the heinous act.
A very big well done to our year 9's and all the hard work in solving the crime!

Year 10 Art and Photography Workshop
Tue 27 Feb 2024We are excited to share the recent creative endeavors of our Year 10 Art and Photography students, who were fortunate to participate in an engaging in-house workshop as part of their current unit of work focused on churches and landscapes.
During the workshop, students delved into the fascinating realm of cyanotype printing, exploring various techniques and processes. This hands-on experience allowed them to experiment with light, composition, and subject matter, resulting in the production of captivating works of art.
Under the guidance of their dedicated instructors, our budding artists and photographers embraced the opportunity to express their creativity and hone their skills in capturing the essence of churches and landscapes through the unique medium of cyanotype printing.
We commend our students for their enthusiasm and dedication to their craft, and we look forward to witnessing the continued growth and artistic achievements of our Year 10 cohort.
