Within Religious Studies students are given an opportunity to explore their faith as well as the faith of others. Our students explore the six major World Religions to have a deeper understanding of the world around them. Students learn in depth about the Catholic beliefs and practices at the heart of our school community while being given time to reflect and debate on the thought processes behind these beliefs and practices. We teach students that there are many ways to approach any issue, that different people can believe the same things for completely different reasons, and that within religions, or even within religious denominations, there are often many contrasting beliefs and opinions. Our curriculum is based around the guidance of the Curriculum Directory for Catholic Education. Our aim is to provide a broad, balanced, and rigorous curriculum that meets the needs and aspirations of every student and leaves them well prepared for their future. So, through this curriculum we strive to help build rounded and respectful individuals.
