There are no changes to the GCSE English Language exam and content remains as below:
 
Paper 1 Creative Reading and Writing
Section A - Reading questions which test understanding of a fiction source:
Question 1 - information retrieval
Question 2 - language analysis
Question 3 - structure analysis
Question 4 - evaluating the source
 
Section B 
Writing either a narrative (story) or description inspired by an image
 
Paper 2 Non Fiction Reading and Writing
Section A 
Question 1 - information retrieval
Question 2 - summarise and compare differences in 2 non-fiction sources
Question 3 - language analysis
Question 4 - compare writers' viewpoints in 2 non-fiction sources
 
Section B 
Writing an an argument in response to a statement
 
Whilst there are no changes to the GCSE English Language exam, we have been given additional information:
 
Section A
Paper 2 Sources will be as follows:
 
Source A - 21st century autobiographical writing
Source B - 19th century essay

Writing - an article
