CAFOD
CAFOD Eyes of the World Campaign Wednesday 30th June
On this day St Edmund’s and St Richards Catholic Primary school joined up in the morning at the White Cliffs of Dover at Samphire Hoe. This was to support the new CAFOD campaign - Eyes of the World. This new campaign by CAFOD is due to the UK government hosting COP26, a vitally important meeting about the climate crisis. Some of the poorest people in the world are being hit hardest by the effects of climate change. As the eyes of the world are on us this year, CAFOD is asking the UK government to be good leaders at COP26. Therefore, in support of such and important task our Catholic schools in Dover joined up for our first school trip since lockdown and covid restrictions and went to the White Cliffs of Dover. St Edmunds took about 15 students and St Richards had 5 students. While we were at this location students from both schools had a range of photo ops with CAFOD reps. Also our local MP of Dover/Deal MP has agreed to answer 5 student questions on climate change and what she is doing to support CAFODs new campaign.
