Statements of AttainmentThere a 8 levels of attainment within the performance ranges. In Key Stage 3, students will be assessed within the banded levels 3 to 8. Assessment/ProgressionThroughout Key Stage 3, assessment will be based on the 8 levels of Attainment. Year 9 specific S.A.T tasks are set to evaluate final student performance Assessment GCSEThose students who choose to follow GCSE will be assessed by 2 internal practical assignments which carry 25% of the total grade awarded in GCSE. In addition they will sit two written examinations which carry the balance of 75% of the grade awarded. Accreditation

Recording Key Stage 3-4 Key Stage 3. In both classwork and homework, staff will ensure that students have covered sufficient work to undertake assignments specifically designed to assess levels of attainment in the attainment targets. The only assessment that will indicate achievement will be based on performance in the assignments. It is these assignment achievements that will be officially recorded. GCSECoursework and homework will be assessed as a guide to indicate progress and work completion. The only assessment that will count as achievement will be based on the 2 coursework assignments. A LevelExternal assessment of Personal study (15% of total award) HomeworkKey Stage 3 GCSE and A Levels - This will be set to supplement classwork and prepare students for assessment. In general, all students will receive homework each week. Failure to complete homework will hinder progression and will adversely affect attainment. Students will be detained after school to complete missing work. |
